Chinelo Udogu, a middle-aged woman in Anambra State, has been arrested for allegedly flogging a three-year-old child to death and dumping her body in a bush.
The reason for the woman's actions is unknown, but the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, for further investigation, according to the state Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Tochukwu Ikenga.
"The villian, Chinelo Udogu, who flogged a three-year-old child until she was lifeless and deposited her dead body in a bush at Amikwo, Awka, has been apprehended by the police, and the victim's body has been recovered," Ikenga said.
"The lesson to be learned is to be responsible and cautious when we are angry, and to avoid becoming overly physical when correcting our children."
"The case must be transferred to the state CID for separate investigations, and any further developments must be communicated."
