Ondo State Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, has commented on the killings of worshippers at St Francis Catholic Church, describing it as a satanic attack.
"It is a black Sunday in Owo," Akeredolu said in a statement sent by his Chief Press Secretary, Richard Olatunde, in response to the heinous occurrence.
Our hearts are laden with sorrow. The enemies of the people have targeted our calm and tranquillity. This is a personal tragedy, as well as an attack on our beloved state."
It was unexpected. I am very much surprised to say this. We will do everything possible to track down these killers and make them pay.
I plead with our people to remain calm and vigilant. I have spoken to the security agencies and also have the assurance that they will monitor and restore normalcy to Owo kingdom, Akeredolu said.
