Governor Soludo Bans All Unions of Keke, Shuttle Buses in Anambra

The state of Anambra would not have space for a transport union because of an embargo enforced by the state government.

According to information gathered, bus and tricycle drivers will henceforth make weekly and monthly tax payments directly to the state government.

To register their names for artisan and vocational skills in the meantime, the state government has sent invitations to garage and motor park touts.

As part of Governor Charles Soludo's plan to make Anambra one of the top cosmopolitan states, all union tricycles (Keke) and shuttle buses have been banned from operating in the state.

Joe Igbokwe, a prominent member of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC), posted about this on social media on Friday, September 30.

The state government gave tricycle drivers instructions to pay N4000 per week or N15000 per month.

Owners of interstate automobiles were instructed to pay N25000 per month or N6250 per week. However, it was learned that obedient drivers will receive health insurance as compensation.

Drivers and riders in the state who disobey the new regulation have been warned to prepare for the consequences that will follow.
